Hub allows multiple sensors to monitor food/chemical lines

Senware_tmb Data acquisition systems from Northern Manufacturing exhibitor Senware are used for on line and at line continuous monitoring and measurement of colour, moisture, coatweight, oils and other constituents in food, board products, paper/converting, pharmaceutical, chemical, minerals and bulk materials manufacturing.

Its analogue-USB/ serial conversion hub allows up to 12 industrial measurement sensors with analogue outputs to be connected to a single USB input port. This enables a standard PC to be used in data acquisition applications. Custom software is also available. The data is available over all common fieldbus outputs (Ethernet/IP, Profi-Bus) for connection to a standard PLC.

At the show, the company is also introducing the Smart Colour Sensor, employing an onboard processor to calculate and calibrate the sensor onboard. There is no need for any special cable or intermediary electronics. The sensor consists of a single circuit board. All process control outputs such as 4 to 20mA and 0 to 10V DC, are generated at the sensor along with the option of various fieldbus connections. All calibration and set up options are communicated to the sensor via RS232/485.
