Rapid turnaround heat treatment from Meltham Thermal Engineers

Sub-contract services for the heat treatment and surface engineering of metal components are supplied by Northern Manufacturing 2013 exhibitor, Meltham Thermal Engineers to a broad customer base including the automotive and heavy automotive sectors, marine, energy and precision engineering industries.

Meltham1 The company specialises in induction hardening and shot peening, using a wide range of technologies. It also offers a gear cutting and grinding service to its heat treatment customers. The layout of the 30,000 square foot facility in Meltham, West Yorkshire has been custom-designed to provide the most efficient work flows across the range of heat treatment and associated processes offered by the company.

Six sealed quench furnaces, with a load capacity of up to one tonne each, allows the company to carburise, carbonitride, and harden and temper a broad range of components. Pit furnaces, holding up to 2.5 tonnes each, are also capable of carburising, whilst catering for normalising, annealing and stress relieving requirements. The company’s press quenching facilities are suitable for components that require dimensional control to tight tolerances.

All processes are covered by ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001 and CQi9 approval, with all processed product thoroughly inspected and verified compliant to specification, in laboratory and testing facilities.
