XYZ Machine Tools commits to major presence at Northern Manufacturing 13

XYZ Machine Tools will have a major presence at Northern Manufacturing 2013, exhibiting examples from its CNC/manual and full-CNC machine range, including ProtoTRAK-equipped CNC/manual mills and lathes to machining centres, turning centres and large capacity CNC oil country lathes.

XYZ-SMAN2013-PIC1_tmb The company is showing its 15hp/8000rev/min Lean Production Machine. It is the company’s first ProtoTRAK CNC machine tool to be fitted with an automatic tool changer. Several features differentiate it from a standard vertical machining centre; for example, that it is programmed easily using ‘plain English’ prompts. There are no codes to learn and the tools can be operated at any time under manual control.

Both the ProTURN SLX 355 CNC/manual lathe, with a 360mm wing over bed, operating at 50 to 4000rev/min, and the ProtoTRAK SMX 3500, 5hp programmable speed (40 to 5000rev/min) CNC/manual bed mill with a 1372 x 356mm table, have this feature.

Also on the stand is the 20hp, 5 to 8000rev/min XYZ 710 VMC CNC vertical machining centre, with the latest generation Siemens 828D conversational control system fitted as standard. Another machine on show is the 20hp, XYZ 1060 HS VMC, capable of traversing at 43m/min via the Siemens 840D CNC and is equipped with a 12,000rev/min spindle. Additionally, options include a 15,000, 18,000 or 24,000rev/min spindle.

XYZ-SMAN2013-PIC2-tmb The Compact Turn 52 turning centre equipped with the Siemens 828D CNC, offers live tooling with a VDI tool turret with all 12 stations capable of 4000rev/min.

Programming of all Siemens controls fitted by the company can be accomplished without G coding knowledge, either at the machine or off-line, using CAD/CAM or other applications software. Vertical machining and turning centres are also available with Fanuc control systems. As part of Team Support, the company offers impartial advice as to the best solution for a particular application.

The machining centres can be seen cutting metal on Stand C56. Or visit www.xyzmachinetools.com for more information on the range of solutions available
