Software partnership drives SME profitability
Software and automation plays an increasingly important role in even smaller manufacturing operations. Visitors to Northern Manufacturing 2013 will have the chance to examine an interesting new partnership between two leading players in the field.
Integrating MIE Trak, from MIE Solutions, with Metamation’s MetaCAM, provides a bi-directional link whereby MIE Trak drives automation when importing new parts and creating nests to run on the shop floor, then MetaCAM returns all the information for MIE Trak to generate cycle time, material utilisation and other data necessary to cost products and capacity in an automated environment.
MIETrak can be implemented throughout the entire organisation to provide vital management information in a real time setting. Metamation supports multiple types of CNC machines for punch, laser, plasma, hybrid, waterjet, five-axis along with the Press Brake solution. Import types supported include blocks, layer, spline curves, DXF, DWG, IGES, PRT, Native Solidedge and Solidworks Inventor.
Metamation is a leader in the sheet metal CAD/CAM arena and MIE Solutions provides production control software for the manufacturing industry. Following recent announcements with the MIE and Metamation Partnership, Metamation has established a new office in the UK to work in conjunction with MIE. In recognition of the partnership Metamation is offering discounted packages to convert to the suite of MetaCAM software.
