Automated counting system turbo-charges stocktaking
Claimed to be the fastest automated parts counting system available, the TalliScan integrates a precision, wireless weighing scale with a rugged Android handset. The innovative stocktaking solution along with its accessories, will be showcased at Northern Manufacturing 2014.
Maker, Prospect42, says that the TalliScan allows operators to simply scan the parts bin using the rugged handset and place the bin on the wireless weighing scale. The handset instantly calculates the parts count and keeps a record of stocktaking. Counting rate is 2000 bins a day from a single operator, requiring fewer counting staff and minimising production downtime.
Alternatively, 60 bins can be counted in just 15 minutes, to cover a significant proportion of stock during a daily inventory check. It will even calculate the length of cable, or number of surface mount components, left on a reel.
Additional benefits include the fact that bin contents remain undisturbed throughout, and the count history can be exported suitable for a spreadsheet or MRP system.
The kit contains an Android handset, wireless weighing scale, wireless label printer, mobile charging power-bank, and a working example. It is claimed to be easy to set up, yet flexible enough to be used by manufacturers and assemblers of mechanical and electronic products alike.”
