Major new investment for St Anns Sheet Metal

Northern Manufacturing 2014 exhibitor St. Ann’s Sheet Metal Company has announced a major new investment in the shape of a Trumpf TruLaser 3030 fibre laser cutter. The £500k machine joins the firm’s existing Trumpf laser cutter, allowing the company to offer an increased service with no tooling cost, rapid prototyping, greater accuracy and a quick turn around.

The new Trumpf TruLaser brings significant extra capacity and capability to the Nottingham-based firm. Both nitrogen & air cutting speeds have increased twofold, together with the ability to deal with thicker materials. Mild steel up to 20mm and stainless steel, aluminium, brass and copper up to 12mm can be handled with ease.

Working range has now been extended to 3000mm x 1500mm, with a new multi-cutting head allowing different thicknesses to be cut with much reduced set-up times. The machine is fully automated, allowing lights-out operation 24 hours, 7 days a week

Alongside its precision fibre laser cutting service, St Anns Sheet Metal specialises in light to medium fabrication work, CNC punching and CNC Bending facilities. The firms also offers precision machining, quality powder coating and plating processes. Founded in 1960, The St. Ann’s Sheet Metal Company has built a reputation as a quality-orientated sheet metal company, with its materials, workmanship and customer support recognised by ISO 9002 accreditation.
