3D software validates tube bending

Unison edit_tmbCustom products tailored to specific customer requirements account for a significant proportion of business for Unison, serving diverse market sectors including aerospace, automotive, marine, oil and gas, energy and bespoke products.

At Northern Manufacturing 2016, the tube bending machine specialist is showcasing what it claims is the most extensive range of all-electric tube bending machines in the market. Its standard range accommodates tube diameters from 16 to 180mm, and it has developed a custom machine capable of bending 10inch schedule pipe with a OD of 273mm.

A portfolio of advanced software tools provides an end-to-end tube bending service. Featuring advanced 3D simulation, Opt2Sim, allows users to analyse, optimise and validate programs – without needing access to the physical machine. The TubeWorks tube bending CAD/CAM software package enables users to automatically extract key manufacturing information such as bend angles and rotations from a native SolidWorks model or a common CAD file format. This reduces the time that it takes to develop programs for CNC tube bending dramatically, typically from hours to just minutes.

Sister company Ingenium Integration provides a design consultancy service from robotic cells to integrated production lines and turnkey automated systems. All are designed to save customers time and money.

Both companies are attending Northern Manufacturing 2016, showcasing the EB1000. This high precision, CNC controlled, manually operated, bending machine, is suitable for bending tubes up to 16mm OD and is suitable for low volume production and prototypes in demanding applications.
