Haas debuts new machine at Northern Manufacturing 2014

Making its debut UK appearance at Northern Manufacturing 2014 will be Haas Automation’s latest CNC machine, the 2014 model VF-6. According to the firm, the latest incarnation of the VF-6 represents years of ongoing refinement. Visitors to the show will see the medium-sized CNC vertical put through its paces with live cutting demonstrations.

VF6-40_LC_SMTC_tmb The Haas VF-6 has generous 1,626 x 813 x 762 mm xyz travels. It is a rugged VMC that yields reliability and accuracy in a moderately-sized machine. The VF-6 has a 40-taper cartridge spindle driven by a 30 hp vector Dual-Drive (Y-Delta) drive. The VF-6 produces either 75 ft-lb of torque at a low 1400 rpm, or 250 ft-lb at 450 rpm with the optional 2-speed gearbox – and will also run up to 8,100 rpm in 1.2 seconds for finishing aluminium.

Haas claims its CNC control makes its VMCs easy to operate. With special Haas-only features like word-processor editing, one-button features, multi-function jog handle and Visual Quick Code programming, Haas asserts its CNC control is the most user-friendly CNC control available anywhere.

Haas CNC machines offer an abundant menu of options, accessories and rotary products that allows users to fully tailor the machine to specific needs. But Haas machines also offer a long list of standard features and capabilities – many unique to Haas – normally found only on machines costing thousands more, says the company.
