Compressor saves energy
On display at the Atlas Copco stand at Northern Manufacturing 2014 will be a model from its GA 7-37kW VSD+ compressor range, which has been expanded to include models up to 37kW. The compressors are claimed to provide industry-leading energy savings of 50% on average, a 13% leap in free air delivery and a canopy less than half the size of traditional fixed speed compressors. The breakthrough in energy efficiency is made possible by the company’s patented interior permanent magnetic (iPM) motors which drive all GA VSD+ compressors.
Another new product showcased will be the GA90+-160 compressors, an addition to the GA size II compressor range. These compressors have a higher air flow and better efficiency than previous models, low noise levels of 70 to 71dB(A), a longer service interval of 8000hours and reduced service costs, says the company.
