LCL invests in new SMT capability

LCL-preview-edit_tmb A major investment in new SMT machinery is keeping Northern Manufacturing & Electronics exhibitor, LCL Electronics, at the forefront of PCB technology, says the company.

Visitors will be able to discover how the family-owned company can adapt to production changes with minimum operator involvement, courtesy of the I-pulse M20 SMT placement machine.

The Blundell production equipment has the largest board handling capability on the market, claims the company. It has no mechanical board stoppers, but uses a laser sensor to measure the board length, which allows components of any size or shape from 01005 up to large complex POP assembly – including domed LEDs – to be placed on to boards of up to 1.5m long.

The CEM makes, assembles and tests PCBs (including box building and wiring) for companies in audio, rail, fire safety, signalling, and LED lighting and medical diagnostics markets.

There are more than seven surface mount production lines, including offshore, LCL offers PCB assembly (both surface mount and though hole) box build, cable harness assembly and global procurement as well as programming, test and burn-in.
