Rofin-Baasel addresses range of laser technologies

Rofin-Baasel-preview-edit_tmb Laser beam sources and laser-based systems based on technologies, including CO2 lasers; lamp- and diode- pumped, solid-state lasers in rod or disk geometry; fibre and diode lasers will be showcased on the Rofin-Baasel (UK) stand at Northern Manufacturing 2014.

From single laser-beam sources to complex systems, covering single-digit watts up to multi-kW, as well as a comprehensive spectrum of wavelengths. Pico- and femto-second laser beam sources have been added to the range.

Applications include marking or engraving, continuous or pulsed, spot or seam welding and reflow welding, or welding with addition of new material from a wire or rod. Also transmission welding of certain plastics/polymers. Other uses are fusion and sublimation cutting of metals, plastics, ceramics, wood and leather, using galvo-steered optics as well as fixed optic heads. Additional applications include laser structuring, perforation and surface treatment.
