Timsons showcases 75 years of casting excellence
For over 75 years, Timsons has provided sub-contract engineering services, with a skilled, experienced workforce. At Northern Manufacturing 2014, the venerable firm will profile its premium quality casting capability, weighing from 1kg to 2.5 tonnes, with a machining service that can accommodate every casting poured.
The foundry facility has two, modern electric induction furnaces to produce high quality castings in small to medium batch quantities in all grades of grey iron and SG iron. Inspection and certification facilities are also provided.
The foundry and machine shop are available as separate services, or can be combined to provide finished components. The manufacture of close tolerance components, from raw materials, for use in precision assemblies is offered, in addition to machining of free issues castings, fabrications and forgings.
Small components are manufactured by using vertical machining centres horizontal and vertical lathes, whilst larger components are manufactured using a twin pallet horizontal borer.
