Innovative packaging solution from Packaging One
Packaging One is showcasing a brand new patented packaging solution on its stand at Northern Manufacturing 2014.
Packaging One’s MediaWrap was originally developed for the mobile phone/tablet repair and trade-in market but its concept has been used as a starting point for many other ‘spin-off’ designs.
MediaWrap protects phones and tablets like no other packaging in the market today, claims the firm. The company is so confident in its protective abilities that it says you can drive over the pack with no internal or cosmetic damage. And to prove it, they’ve posted a wince-making video on YouTube. A simple, all-in-one solution, MediaWrap has been specifically designed to counteract any impact, with load bearing foam absorbing any drops, knocks or collisions, while doubling as a compression aid to enable stacking without damage. The self-sealing pack also features a double edge around all sides to bear the brunt of any side impacts, and there’s a lock-in crease at each end making it impervious to any tampering.
The benefits of MediaWrap are numerous says the firm, claiming a 50% saving on shipping costs, a 30-50% reduction on packing times and a 23% saving on packaging waste. Unlike plastic-based packaging, the MediaWrap is constructed of recycled board and self-adhesive peelable foam, making the pack 100% recyclable.
The MediaWrap compliments Packaging One’s range of foam packs, used widely through the electronics industry, many of which are also on display at our stand.
