CAD/CAM optimises operation
Powered by what is claimed to be the industry’s most advanced nesting engine, the SigmaNEST CAD/CAM nesting system is for plasma, laser, punch, oxyfuel, waterjet, combination, router and knife cutting machines. Exhibiting this week at Northern Manufacturing 2014, SigmaTEK claims that is ensures superior material utilisation, machine motion optimisation, and part quality balanced with cutting speed, work flow integration, material handling, accurate estimates and information management.
The company also offers SigmaTUBE, a tube and pipe cutting software that operates seamlessly within SolidWorks. It supports round, square, rectangular, or triangular tube/pipe along with structural material such as I-beams, H-beams, C-channel, angle iron, and other user-defined shapes. Custom programs are available for 3D tube/pipe cutting saws, plasma, and laser machines.
Also on show will be SigmaBEND (pictured), which maximises the speed, quality and flexibility of bending processes with full 3D simulation. It supports bending processes like air bending, die bending and 3-point bending. Such machine options as angle measurement systems and lifting aids are also supported.
