Tapeswitch showcases innovative pressure sensitive switching
Tapeswitch showcases its range of pressure-sensitive products, safety light curtains and accessories at Northern Manufacturing 2015. Interesting innovations from Tapeswitch include an four zone switch mat for control and signalling applications manufactured on the behalf of French distributor AE & T to showcase the advances in pressure switch technology at the Expoprotection exhibition at Paris Porte de Versailles. The design has numerous leisure and technical possibilities thanks to recent developments in switch technology and advanced printing capabilities. The four zone switch mat created was 1m x 1m in size with multiple control zones and was printed in full colour, opening up the possibilities of printing any design in colour onto separate sections of the mat including photographs, logos, illustrations or icons. The mat is constructed using a new ultra-thin sensor, sandwiched between two-layers of flexible PVC material, the switch mat is then RF-welded to provide a waterproof and durable seal opening up outside usage possibilities for the mat.
Karen Keighley of Tapeswitch commented, “The quality of the printing on the mats opens up a whole new market to us for firms wanting to use the mats as part of retail or leisure applications, the reproduction quality is superb and company logos come out bright and crisp. We see the leisure market being a big area of growth but the mats can still be used for traditional industrial safety applications, for example warning of a danger and turning off machinery”
