Jenks & Cattell increases capacity with double shifts

IMG_0712 laser cutting tmb Exhibiting at Northern Manufacturing 2015, Jenks and Cattell Engineering Ltd, est 1886, is a leading supplier of sheet metal manufacturing and engineering offering a diverse range of services and equipment to its customers.

With presses of 10 to 1000 tonnes, two laser machines cutting up to 20mm, and an impressive manual and robotic welding section, Jenks and Cattell Engineering can manufacture parts of both simple and intricate designs for a wide range of industries including automotive, white goods, off-highway and construction.

2015-2020 will see a period of significant planned growth for the company, including increased investment in machinery, automation and additional team members, as well as an additional shift.

Nick George, Sales Director, commented: “For our customers, lead times will be reduced dramatically as the laser fabrication is already automated for 24-7 production, and now we will be manufacturing metal parts, metal assemblies and metal components from 6am until 10pm, over two shifts.

It is a very exciting time for the company as we look to further diversify and expand our customer base.”

The double shift pattern will increase the firm’s responsiveness, enabling it to manufacture a larger quantity of parts within a quicker time frame.
