Miniaturisation and ruggedness are showcased
New products will be showcased by Fischer Connectors at Northern Manufacturing & Electronics 2016. Visitors can discover its Rugged Flash Drive, the ultra-miniature high density connector MiniMax 06 and the single fibre optic connector FO1, all released this year.
The new products address the current trends in miniaturisation, high data transmission and ultra-ruggedness, says the company. The USB 3.0 version of the Rugged Flash Drive is faster and smaller than its predecessor. The miniature, lightweight memory stick allows user to download and securely transfer confidential data, images or videos from devices used in extreme environmental conditions or in hard-to-reach areas.
The MiniMax series has been extended with an even smaller connector, MiniMax 06 (pictured), which can combine up to 12 signal and power contacts in a footprint of just 10mm. Rugged and easy to use, it is for harsh environments , handheld or body-worn applications when space is limited.
The FiberOptic series now includes a new, single fibre optic connector, FO. This miniature, lightweight, rugged connector is claimed to ensure premium optical performance even in harsh environments. With IP68 sealing (mated) and UPC and SM APC polishing, it is available in pre-configured reels or integrated into custom assemblies for applications which include defence, instrumentation, sensing and broadcasting.
