Thermal spray improves coating quality

This year’s Northern Manufacturing show will be the platform for B & B Precision Engineering to demonstrate the results of its investment in new technology, as the company showcases its range of capabilities.

This, claims the firm, produces higher quality coatings than conventional HVOF to improve the performance of components to be dramatically improved. Features include increased hardness and wear resistance, increased thermal resistance, increased corrosion resistance and use for dielectric coatings. As well as improved performance, it can also achieve significant cost savings through the use of lower cost base materials, says the company.

Manufacturing facilities are backed up by dedicated engineering and quality departments. As well having the latest measurement and inspection equipment, the fully-equipped laboratory enables product testing and analysis to be carried out on site. The company is made up of B&B Precision – component manufacturing capabilities,

CNC milling, CNC turning, CNC grinding and wire eroding; B&B Grinding Services – sub contract grinding services, surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, internal, centreless and hard turning; and B&B Coatings – thermal spray coatings, HVOF, powder flame spray, tungsten carbide, Inconel, ceramics, nickel alloys and stellite.
