Toolholder reduces set-up times

SCHUNK edit.jpg_tmbAmong the new products to be demonstrated by Schunk at Northern Manufacturing 2016 is the Tendo E Compact hydraulic expansion toolholder. It is capable of reducing set-up times by up to 60% whilst generating 2000Nm of torque, says the company. It delivers micron precision for a host of machining applications so that even demanding applications with tight tolerances on the form, position and surface finish can be rapidly and reliably machined.

For workholding applications, the company will demonstrate a number of products, including the flexible manual Rota-S chuck with an optimised wedge bar drive system and improved lubricant system that ensures consistently high clamping forces. The chuck ensures higher rotational speeds and cutting speeds are possible. It enables more efficient cutting strategies that shorten the manufacturing time.

For visitors interested in robotics and gripping applications, it will also show gripping products, such as the MPG-plus miniature parallel gripper.
