AMES centres on sintering
Manufacturing structural sintered parts, soft-magnetic parts, gears, self-lubricating bearings, filters and porous metallic components, Northern Manufacturing 2016 exhibitor AMES is a privately owned group of companies, founded in 1951 with its head of office in Barcelona.
Northern Manufacturing offers a rare chance to meet the Spanish company, which manufactures complicated, precision sintered parts and provides design and manufacturing process to customer needs. Expertise in sintered soft magnetic materials (pure iron, phosphorious-iron, silicon-iron, cobalt-iron, ferritic stainless steel) allows it to co-design specific sintered parts for electro-magnetic circuits. The sintering technology allows complex shapes and design improvements.
Technicians will support customers in the choice of stainless steel material grade for sintered stainless steel parts (flanges for exhaust and cooling systems, turbochargers and EGRs, ABS-rings), whether austenitic 300 series or ferritic 400 series or even martensitic. It can propose material adapted to the particular corrosion or oxidation resistance requirement.
The company is also considered one of the main specialists worldwide in the manufacture of self-lubricating sintered bearings in bronze and iron material using a wide range of lubricating oils (mineral and synthetic). It produces both standard and special bearings to customer drawings.
Short and large series of metallic sintered filters and silencers are produced mainly in bronze and stainless steel, although other materials are also available.
